A surprisingly relaxed spot for conversation and latte, in the space of the old St. Mark’s Bookshop (1977-2016). Plenty of student types and co-working, big bright space, big selection of coffee. I want to try the acai bowl things, they look competitive with Playa Bowls. Solid stop when you’re cutting through the neighborhood.

If you feel like coffee in New York City I would recommended this coffee chain! They always have a great coffee and you can get as well a small bite! I fell in love with their cheesecakes! I was in few of their shops and to be honest each single one is great! If you care about high quality of the products you must visit this place! I am sure you will not regret!

I love the bean. Ever since I started working in the area and checked out the bean, I always had a great experience. Whether it's a coffee, acai bowls, or a shake, I always have a great experience with the staff and the drinks are delicious. The ambience is great and there's enough tables to sit with friends or just to study for a while. If you're a student you get a discount. There's multiple "the bean" in the area but this one is my favorite

Great selection of coffee, smoothies and snacks. Very creative drinks like the nutella latte that you can’t find everywhere and tastes so good. The place can get busy but there are plenty of seats to hang out and get some work done on your laptop (with wifi and a printer!).

Nice place to grab coffee and a snack. Offers gluten free cookies and vegan options. Nice atmosphere. Well lit and plenty of tables. Pleasant place to hang out. Look forward to stopping by here again soon.

Spacious NYC coffee shop with super duper cool artwork, drawings and decor all around you! Makes the experience more fun and interesting. Layout of shop is nice with plenty of seating areas. One of my favorite coffee spots to go to while in New York, East Village. Coffee is delish here and the fresh warm pastries! Menu is interesting as well with many options, great creative scene!

Overall rating: 4.8 I feel so sad for the low ratings that had creepy service. I’ve been coming here for years when I’m in the area. I only get the Nutella Fitzgerald. Great place for working, people keep to yourself. I did one time go to the EV one with a Starbucks cup & got denied service. That store location ended up closing! Ha. Recommend to get some coffee, but then leave. Servers are fresh out of college. Don’t expect high service.
